Identification of QTL for leaf angle at canopy-wide levels in maize

چکیده

Leaf angle (LA) is one of the most important canopy architecture related traits in maize (Zea mays L.). However, genetic basis LA at canopy-wide levels still not completely understood. In this study, RIL population derived from two parent lines with distinct plant was used for QTL mapping eight leaves below tassel across three environments. Fifty-six were identified single environment analysis and 44 detected joint analysis. Among them, nine common because they more than 1 or 2 3 The could explain 1.29–20.14% phenotypic variation affecting 1–8 leaves, included qLA5.1 affected all qLA3.1 upper (1stLA–4thLA), qLA9.1 lower (5thLA–8thLA). Furthermore, 8thLA mainly by major minor QTL; 1stLA, 4thLA 5thLA QTL, epistatic interactions; other four LAs simultaneously interactions environments, inferred that different. These results provide a comprehensive understanding levels, which will be helpful to design ideal maize.

Remote estimation of nitrogen and chlorophyll contents in maize at leaf and canopy levels

Leaf and canopy nitrogen (N) status relates strongly to leaf and canopy chlorophyll (Chl) content. Remote sensing is a tool that has the potential to assess N content at leaf, plant, field, regional and global scales. In this study, remote sensing techniques were applied to estimate N and Chl contents of irrigated maize (Zea mays L.) fertilized at five N rates. Leaf N and Chl contents were dete...

The ZmCLA4 gene in the qLA4-1 QTL controls leaf angle in maize (Zea mays L.).

Maize architecture is a major contributing factor to their high level of productivity. Maize varieties with an erect-leaf-angle (LA) phenotype, which increases light harvesting for photosynthesis and grain-filling, have elevated grain yields. Although a large body of information is available on the map positions of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for LA, little is known about the molecular mechan...

QTL identification of ear leaf morphometric traits under different nitrogen regimes in maize.

The ear leaf is one of the most important leaves in maize (Zea mays); it affects plant morphology and yield. To better understand its genetic basis, we examined ear leaf length, ear leaf width, and ear leaf area for quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping in a recombinant inbred line population under two nitrogen regimes. Nine QTLs, on chromosomes 1 (one), 2 (one), 3 (one), 4 (three), 7 (one), a...

the role of application of dynamic assessment approach in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...

Non-destructive determination of maize leaf and canopy chlorophyll content.

The objective of this study was to develop a rapid non-destructive technique to estimate total chlorophyll (Chl) content in a maize canopy using Chl content in a single leaf. The approach was (1) to calibrate and validate a reflectance-based non-destructive technique to estimate leaf Chl in maize; (2) to quantify the relative contribution of each leaf Chl to the total Chl in the canopy; and (3)...
